Ellen's Rose Sampler for late bloomers: "sign-ups"
Linda and I have been planning to have a "late bloomers" SAL of Ellen's gorgeous Rose Sampler and as there has been interest from other people too the decision was made to make this a "public" SAL effort for us who slowly grew into this lovely design.
So, if you have been eyeing the design and drooling after people's WIP pictures now it's your chance to have a great excuse.... erm, reason to start yet another project! And us Northern Hemisphereners need some summer to cheer the coming winter time. .gif)
We never set any exact starting date, but I think that 6th of October might be good official date: those of you who need to get the supplies have two weeks to get them and those of us who have the supplies can work to make our WIP piles shorter while we wait.
If you can't make it to that date feel free to join us later, there's always room.
Of course you can join us even if you have already started stitching Rose Sampler, the more the merrier. .gif)
The choice of materials is up to you so feel free to go wild with the materials and colours!
If you are new to the aspect of Stitch-A-Long please read What is a Stitch-A-Long? thread for more information.

I am in! .gif)
I will be stitching this over one on 32 count black Belfast linen with various GASTs and I will create the colour scheme as I go.
And here are the materials.

What if you've already completed? It's a little late for us to sign up, isn't it? Mine is DMC 310 (Black) on White Aida. Rather than frame it, I just folded and sewed the sides and made a "pocket" on the top for a dowel. It's hanging froma black ribbon tied to the ends of the dowel and a few inches of ribbon hanging down from there.
I thoguht a fancy frame would detract from the simple beauty of the piece and this was something I hadn't tried before.

Sign me up too. .gif) I have the materials and have actually started, but only have one small leave done on Part 1, so I think I qualify for the late bloomers group!
Like Beaj I'm behind as I just can't resist an exchange.

Can I join too?
I've already stitched part 1 (ahem... in January - time flies, isn't it?), but never got any further... I could really use some group support if I ever want to hang that beautiful sampler in my house some day!
I stitch over one on 28ct cream Lugana with Crescent Colour 'Cupid' floss (that's red, basically .gif) ).

Ok, I'm in just as soon as I've got the last bits and worked out how much floss I need for my chosen colour scheme.
I noticed the Station mods getting the blame a little bit here for people being behind. I'm saying (again for Outi's benefit! ) - it's not my fault, honest! It's not our fault if you people are too weak to resist!

I agree. I've only twisted two arms into exchanges, Terri and Outi. Hey, I admit to being an enabler with exchanges.

Oh you surely are an evil enabler. I'll have to save up for the materials now, and hide the newest start from my hubby.
I just returned to stitching after a year or two hiatus, and I've been start-mad! I used to always work on one project at a time, but I've learned that having several (or many as the case may be) allows me to keep switching all the time to keep having fun. This may have to be my last start though for a while.

I will join in to, I am stitching part 5 at the moment, and I am blaming the exchange mods - that is ME!!!! Because I am now arranging some of the exchanges, I just have to join in don't I??? This might just encourage me to get past the 'stuck in the middle stage'

Count me in too. I actually have started(back in Jan) but got as far as one line of stitching done as I have been addicted to the new exchange list and it got put aside. The one that fell behind of course.

It seems as though I qualify to be a late bloomer as well.....
I never got past part one as I started studing through the university of South Africa for a importers and exporters course......
Since the last assignment has been handed in, I will now pick up my needle and thread once again......
I have, however, downloaded and saved the monthly parts so far.....now all I need to do is print them, keep them in order and stitch to my hearts content.
So, I will eventually finish this lovely sampler of Ellen's which I look forward to hanging up in my home.

I actually made it to part 5 but haven't worked on this in a few months. So, this will be a good way for me to get going on this again!

Hi, I'm new to the forum but not new to the Rose Sampler. I've been watching the gallery for awhile but didn't think about starting until I found this thread for late bloomers. Please add me.
I'm using 36 ct linen in a dark olive green - threads are Carrie's Creations. I'll post a floss toss in a couple of days.
