I remember seeing this topic discussed before, but couldn't find the thread anymore (it has probably been pruned), so..

What is the estimated amount of stitches from one 8 m skein of floss?

I googled 'Stitches per skein floss'.

Here's one answer from http://www.bfdesigns.on.ca/HINTSANDTRICKS.htm but there were other entries that I didn't check.
14 count fabric using 3 strands of floss - 1200 stitches per skein
14 count fabric using 2 strands of floss - 2000 stitches per skein
16 count fabric using 2 strands of floss - 2500 stitches per skein
18 count fabric using 2 strands of floss - 3000 stitches per skein

Well, basically AnnieB gave link to one. I am not afraid of maths (counted cross stitch addict and all) so I am happy with knowing how much one 8 m skein gives approximately. :) (Vikki from Hand-dyedfibers.com has a calculator tool too.)

They gave the same amounts when I made the floss usage estimation for the Spanish Sampler, so I would say they are (even though Vikki gives her amounts in five yard skeins and the other link in 8 yards, but if one can do some basic maths they do give the same amounts).
